The Art of It All

What have you learned about yourself or the world as a result of living through the COVID-19 pandemic? Your challenge is to express your experience of living through this historic time through a work of art.

Show your Light

Summary

Our project is very strong in the Inspiring category. Since we are going to collect NASA data and reports from people in this pandemic. For example: "José, 20 years old. I discovered that my mother is passionate about classical music and loves garlic and oil noodles. I have lived with her since I was born". It was enough for a pandemic to happen for he to become close to his mother to the point of discovering her favorite dish and his musical taste, in theory, should not be so. We will inspire people to look at what good the pandemic has brought them, whether it be getting closer to the family, or new learning, like yoga. The glass can always be half full, however difficult it is to see it.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our project is focused on people. The human factor of every living and inhabiting planet earth (and other planets too). We are experiencing the first pandemic in the 21st century, the first pandemic where diseases such as depression and variations in anxiety are present in a large portion of the population, especially in the youngest (GEN Z and X). How are these people dealing with all the current events in this pandemic context? That was the decisive question for the construction of this project, which is nothing more than the viability, through a digital platform, from the positive point of view of the world. The pandemic is hard. People are dying by the minute. With each death, someone's love goes along. We are all scared and anxious, so we need to turn our eyes to the little things and remember what makes us human. With this question, we find another one below. How can art help lower people's anxiety levels and say, "it's okay"? We know that the artistic movement throughout history has been of paramount importance in times of crisis. And now, with so many resources, we have the digital factor at our side. Art linked to technology to bring peace to as many people as we can. Our idea, which is to do a survey of good data (as an example of answer three) plus the positive testimonies of people, aims to help those who are not handling everything well, and to show future historians that a lot of good has come up in the middle of COVID-19 in 2020. That said, we believe that our project has a high impact. High direct impact on people's lives and the way they are looking at the world and themselves. Self knowledge.

How We Developed This Project

What inspired our team to know what is Brazil is the first country in the world in anxiety with than 18.6 million people according to a 2019 study by the World Health Organization -WHO. According to UERJ, we had an 80% increase in cases of anxiety, stress and depression due to coronavirus and social isolation. And 50% of the people consulted associate this as news and alert notifications. Our approach to developing this project is to create a channel that allows the user to tell positive stories and reports about a quarantine, thus working from a positive point of view of his life in the midst of a pandemic bypassing or exceeding triggered information. It is important to look at these people and show that there is still a light at the end of the tunnel. We will have two data sources: user stories and NASA's own database. NASA data provides inspiration for our screens with Orion constellations. Its main use was as a database of scientific and positive facts that will be recorded in a popular way to facilitate its understanding. We use Wordprees, Google Drive, Google Docs, Discord, Elementor, Keynote, Trello, Imovie and Illustrator as tools. And like CSS, JavaScript and PHP languages. Our team had several moments of learning and adopted the same behavior in our solution, a positive look at the problems.
