The Art of It All

What have you learned about yourself or the world as a result of living through the COVID-19 pandemic? Your challenge is to express your experience of living through this historic time through a work of art.

All we have to decide is what to do with our time

Summary

We currently do not know of a scientific formula to effectively fight the COVID-19 coronavirus which kills millions around the world. The following formula was published on my Facebook account on March 26, 2020 at 2:51 p.m. France time and on my Twitter account on March 23, 2020. The formula is as follows CCCCCOS. It is a carbon chain composed of 5 Carbon atoms, 1 Oxygen atom and 1 Sulfur atom. You will tell me that it does not make sense, but what makes sense?

How I Addressed This Challenge

Try to read well until the end ...

When the world faces a reality that transcends it, when the life of human beings is at stake, philosophical questions resurface. So this period of fear, panic and anxiety forces us to put thought back at the center of our daily lives.

Questioning to understand the world is intrinsic to philosophers. Aristotle says it in these terms: "It is, indeed, the astonishment which, as today, aroused the first thinkers to philosophical speculations. To be a philosopher is therefore to have a certain capacity for astonishment. This astonishment is not in vain, and must find answers because it questions, it worries. That’s why, in ancient times, scholars, mathematicians, magicians are also philosophers, Thales, Martin Gardner for example.

Coronavirus: "The epidemic must lead us to inhabit the world differently"

The challenge is to "make this crisis an opportunity for individual and collective transformation".

The Covid-19 epidemic can teach us a lot about ourselves and our civilization. It reminds us, first of all, of the deep human vulnerability in a world that has done everything to forget it. Our lifestyles and our entire economic system are based on a form of excessiveness, of omnipotence, consecutive to the forgetting of our corporeality. This is not only the fact of having a body and being mortal, but it means taking into account the materiality of our existence and our dependence on the biological, environmental and social conditions of our existence: health is the condition of our freedom.

It may seem paradoxical, but awareness of this vulnerability is a strength. Vulnerability is frailty, but recognizing that we are dependent on each other also conditions our responsibility.

Realizing the futility of our existence is not without bitterness and that is why we observe resistance behaviors.

During this period of confinement, I therefore approached nature again without ever having really neglected it, being born on the largest Volcano in Europe in France (Cantal stratovolcano)

I resumed the work on # cybernetics which studies the information mechanisms of complex systems during the Macy conferences and described in 1947 by Norbert Wiener, as well as the work of Gregory Bateson on communication (human and animal).

Then I did some experiments and a series of photos and videos that I published on Twitter even if I could pass for a madman considering my financial director work.

I knew butterflies well, I tried my luck with bumblebees, spiders, flies, crickets, chafer beetles and it worked. So I manage to keep a butterfly on my hand for several hours or "shake the paw" of a bumblebee without it biting me. Once communication is established, they come back and stay.

Most of us will kill them, hunt them, or at best try to catch them with a net like butterflies.

In fact, you have to have an equal relationship and that changes everything.

These insects having a lifespan for the most part equivalent to the cycle of the Moon, so I resumed my studies on Space, the Moon, the Sun and the conquest of space.

Yesterday I could see the day of my birthday (05/29 1971) and at the exact time of my birth (10:20 pm) the passage of the ISS Space Station above my head. A fantastic moment with my daughter who has downloaded applications to observe the sky today.

That moment reminded me of how great human genius can do extraordinary things with international cooperation.

How I Developed This Project

NASA has always trusted the medium and the magician.

Project Demo

You will tell me that it does not make sense, but what makes sense?

After understanding nature and looking at space, I decided to create the formula against # COVID19. For that I needed the magic of nature, space and a prism overpowered by the best glassware in the world. I had everything in hand. Now there was the fulfillment of the old prophecy that I had been told.

I used the 3 components but not as we think.

First, the film Dark Water which shows how a carbon chain of 8 carbon atoms toxic to the organism (It prevents the adhesion of any type of body (Tefal stove, Teflon ...))

Secondly, the film about Jacques Mayol, the best snorkeling diver, is the Oxygen atom (the fuel to destroy the virus).

Third, the Soufriere volcano is the Sulfur atom (it destroys viruses)

Not being a chemist, I had to keep the 8 atoms to maintain a stable equilibrium of the formula.

It became CCCCCOS vs # COVID19
