Your challenge is to consider the journey of food to your plate, determine how disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic are affecting the food supply locally and globally, and propose solutions to address these issues.

M-2NS Mobile Factory

Summary

It is obvious that COVID-19 pandemic affected economically and socially. That affects the food supply locally and globally, that the agricultural and industrial fields are greatly affected, this can lead the world to starve and live in hard conditions. And to solve such problems, we created a small mobile factory for producing key food, the factory contains some machines programmed to work automatically can food and distribute them among some regions in the same place.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Food take a long journey to reach our plates. COVID-19 increased that journey length and made it more risky. The pandemic affects the health of the workforce, where some are afraid from being out in order not to catch the virus and the others who already caught the virus don't want to infect other people. The pandemic also affects the import and export and also the global trade movement as a result the production of goods decreased, therefore key food existence decreased that can easily lead to starvation. To solve the problem, our project is done to solve it in the modern ways that the world is moving towards. The project is designed to be a small mobile factory is specialized to sterilize then can a product of the key food. The mobile factory is designed to be relatively small, contains simple canning machines inside and have a sterilization system specialized for food, where it is programmed by a programming system to have two stages, the first is the sterilization one, there will be a sensor feels the object then sterilize it in the right way. The second stage is to can where the programming system runs the machine automatically to can the product very careful and then sterilize it again without any need for a human help, it is all based on AI ( artificial intelligence). This factory also has an important feature that is mobile. it can move from one place to another without any need for a human help, so it can reduce the spread of the virus and make a huge difference. It is able to deliver the key food without any fear of the spread of the virus.

How We Developed This Project

COVID-19 affected people lives among the whole world. No one can say that it doesn't affect him, but food and especially food is kind of live. No one could live without eating it is more like breathing. This pandemic by affecting food supply existence can kill us either by the virus or by starving. A step must be taken to solve this problem and we decided to take it. The project is developed to suit the situation of the pandemic as it is provided with a complete sterilization system programmed automatically to reduce the need of human beings, therefore the spread of the virus is reduced. Also all the project depends on the AI (artificial intelligence) to reduce the need of human beings. It is also designed to be mobile so when it is applied in a place, there will be no need for people to exit there houses as the products will be delivered to them and it will be also sterilized, that make it the most safe way for canning and delivering food. The project is also using solar energy for getting energy to run it. As the AI needs to be programmed so the coding language for the project is python as it is the easiest and the simplest coding language. It will contain hardware which is the canning an sterilizing machine, and the software which is the programs used for running the machines.The whole factory will be made from recycled materials to be environmentally friendly and lessen its cost as more as possible.
