The improvement of the production process on properties based on family agriculture is related to the food challenge for thinking because it seeks to consider the whole journey of food to the plate, thinking specifically of the weaknesses of the small producer aggravated by the context of the pandemic. The solution based on the productive network that connects university, company and consumer fits the challenge because it considers the risks of interruptions in supply chains and logistics that may affect food security, proposing scientifically based assistance solutions that will be useful for the rise of family agriculture.
The INTEagro team is formed by people from different parts of Brazil who have strong links with the academic community in the places where they live. The interest in family agriculture united and mobilized the team that evaluated several possibilities from the first suggestion that applied the use of ozone for food disinfection to the construction of the final proposal. Several meetings were by videoconference and voice, editing of documents, research, sharing experiences and debates on the topics discussed in the webinars. The participation of the mentors was fundamental in the work process.
