Our app will simplify the information sharing between the government and farmers. smooth information sharing will ensure smooth food supply chain and will highlight the area with higher demand or availability of food resource. It will also address the problem of price hike and food wasted in farms during this pandemic.
Our country Nepal has a diverse and difficult terrain with very less agricultural land. so, population settlement is in clusters with large number of people living in a densely packed area. These area are mostly far from agricultural production area. This results in transportation and supplies problem of food resource especially during this pandemic. The movement of population from major cities to village too motivated us for the agricultural revolt that can be brought in this situation.
On the other hand Nepal is highly dependent on food imports from other foreign countries. Since, due to COVID-19 pandemic, border is blocked ; our country is facing difficult problem of distributing food supplies in all area.
We identified these problems and used open source data from NASA, other space agencies and national media to strengthen our resolve. We found out about low rate of transportation, less irrigated and agricultural land, major cities far apart in clusters and mass migration of city and foreign workers to rural part of the country.
We used Adobe premiere pro for video editing , Photoshop and illustrator for image designing.
We had a hard time to access latest data and figuring out the current trend in population movement and change in agricultural yield.We also found out many other problems affecting the food supply change during this pandemic like food hoarding of fast food industry and wastage of packaged food in stores.
