Summary

Our project predicts the prevalence of COVID-19 by gathering GPS data from a mobile application preinstalled, each user possess a special ID. When a user registers a positive infection into the app, It will send notification to every soul that have been near him in according to the last stored data(specific time & distance).Also the user will be notified to wear a mask after leaving home. And with the implementation of satellites data we can determine if any change to the pandemic is noticeable.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our project adressed the challange  “human factors”  via a number of various criterias.

First of all, We identified via our application data about the user what type of activity may affect the spread of the virus. In the registration form we required data about the job the number of hours and even the gender and age with such data in hand in addition to the app tracking capabilities we can predict the hotspots of the virus spreading and what type of activities can relate more than the others. With knowing such activities, Areas or even factors using the satellite imagery and sensors resources available form various institutions, we can affect the decision-makers in our country in the best way possible to fight such pandemic.

How We Developed This Project

In a world gripped by the spread of (SARS-COV-2) and human lifes overrun by isolation and political decisions. We emerged with our solution.After analysing the data of NASA and it’s partners,We were inspired by the huge impact of COVID-19 on Human activites. We found a lot of people losing their jobs. Canada lost approximately 17% of its employees from different fields. Also the production decreases because most people are at home but the consumption increases. using the critical data every organisation is offering to fight the pandemic and our multiple skill in designing and executing. We concluded the existence of the Covid minders project.

First of all, A little overview

As smart devices and its connectivity grow into more and more essential roles in our lives, we decided to implement it’s capabilities and full potential into a noble goal via designing a framework of monitoring, and prediction of the so called “coronavirus”.

Essentially, our system starts with an application on android devices that have been first imagined on adobe XD designing software and executed on android studio via java and xml. this app uses the geolocation data obtained from the smartphone GPS that almost became an essential part in our everyday life.  Even if the smart device was a little outdated and doesn’t have geolocational data feature, We could implement the triangulation data of the service provider via knowing the LAC AND CID CODES WITH THE PHONE NUMBER. By this method, We could determine the location without depending on(global positioning system data) aka GPS. with the geolocation data at the side of us we can transmit it into a central cloud database aka “google firebase service”. with such data in hands our system would have the capability to track the movement of every single person using a smartphone via a uniqe ID generated  for each account by implementing “google firebase authentication service” aka google sign in in our app. If any user using our app have tested positive for the (SARS-COV-2)  virus just a tap in our app will send a notification to every person that have came close to him along the recorded GPS data in the last days via “google firebase notification service”. and by so if any person have came in contact near him as the geolocation data prove he will know about the probability of its infection immediately with the benefit of being advised to run a test. With the existence of such data in mind we can predict the potential number of new future cases and prepare the whole healthcare system and the government. So, Better hospital preparations and self-isolation decisions by decision-makers could be made.

Adding to the all gorgeous features already mentioned above our application will provide warnings to wear a mask each time it detects the movement of the person leaving his house via GPS location. Making better precautions and assisting in increasing the public awareness and on the occasion of additional futures, our app will provide information on every health care institute number to communicate and will display a list of symptoms and precautions to raise the public awareness about the current pandemic and how to evade it.

Also, thanks to NASA, IASI data and eurodata cube we can detect any change happens in the amount of vegetation(via vegetation change detectors and drought detectors), industrial base and pollution (through CO, CO2, NH3, NO2 CHANGES). If all of these data coupled with the data visualisation of the future cases as imagined by our app, We can predict how much the government and ministry of health decisions could affect the prevalence of the virus with factoring in the food, pollution and industry affect by such decisions . By the implementation of this data as proven, We can help the decision-makers in visualising the best set of rules that would benefit both the economy and environment with also limit the disease spread as much as possible. And also notifying the public about the seriousness of our situation with real-time data of infections and death as NASA provided with collaboration of multiple governments.


In the end, We hope our project could decrease or completely eliminate the current pandemic we suffer from in the meantime and help the humanity to progress forward into a better future where the isolation being considered a thing of the past.
