Human Factors

The emergence and spread of infectious diseases, like COVID-19, are on the rise. Can you identify patterns between population density and COVID-19 cases and identify factors that could help predict hotspots of disease spread?

Humans First

Summary

Humans First is a Big Data Blockchain Platform that centralizes population data. Data collection is performed with each contact that the patient has with the different health centers. Thus the management of the health system obtains statistics and tracking of diseases and outbreaks in Brazil, integrating with the NASA georeferencing and demographic density API and generating heat maps.

How We Addressed This Challenge

This is a project that brings together numerous human factors that can be correlated with the critical points of the spread of the disease. In this way, by gathering health and geographic data, we will be able to cover a wide range of solutions for a better development of health services and prevent dissemination by analyzing this data collected and directed to an exclusive and unique health database.

How We Developed This Project

We believe that a better world is possible if we strive to take care of each other respecting the individual human factors of each person.

Question of how Brazil measures health and tracks diseases in its territory, led our look to analyzes in which we identified problems in the management of population data, and the main factor observed, is that they were decentralized, making it difficult to generate a quantitative base statistic. This guided us, and we came to the conclusion that constituting a database, using society's organic flow for collection was an effective way to prevent and treat diseases and outbreaks in the medium and long term.

We use the OGC API Checkpoint from the opengeospatial repository that is on the Github servers to position the region where the patients live, in order to cross-check the data with national databases such as the Brazilian Federal Revenue and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics validating the data of the patient where he currently lives to serve as parameters for statistical consultations for the competent bodies that will have the solution presented here.

In this project the challenge was to design a Big Data Blockchain architecture, for that the efforts are concentrated in the planning of the data flow and how they would reach users, which will go beyond consuming, feeding this base. The result was a schematic drawing done on Figma.

We had a hard time getting a clear understanding of NASA's expectations with this challenge. After speaking with mentors and facilitators, a flow of creativity, and we were able to organize as ideas and reach this result.
