Human Factors

The emergence and spread of infectious diseases, like COVID-19, are on the rise. Can you identify patterns between population density and COVID-19 cases and identify factors that could help predict hotspots of disease spread?

Handshake

Summary

Handshake is a contact tracing system which can identify the potentially infected person before they spread it to others. It works on Bluetooth with each devices having its own random gibberish value which keeps track of people that have come in contact with you. If you get infected, the report data will go to hospital server which will identify the devices and eventually its owner without revealing any privacy and successfully tracing the infected people.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Since we have data of infected people in hospital server, and the residence location can be asked privately to the patient, we can figure out the infected people before they infect further more. This data will give us accurate medium to predict the number of cases in specific location and identify the possible hotspots.

How We Developed This Project

Difficulty in tracing the people who came in contact with the infected, and identifying the hotspots and red zones for the authority inspired us to develop this system. We used space agency data to generate random alpha numeric strings. We used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java and XML were used.
