Radar COVID-19

Summary

We’ve made a website that name ir COVID-19 RADAR. Our team understood that the pandemic main problem is the society misinformations. When someone doesn’t respect the healthy recommendations, it became also a propagation way of the virusThen, our website intends to show how fake news and scientific negationism increase the disease impacts. Beside that, it’s an important appliance that allow the user to make comparisons between two different States and promote a critical thinking in each user about how could himself improve the combat against the virus

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our project gets data about human factors to understand why people discredit the World Health Organization information about COVID-19. Dada from PISA, Public Data ou US and the European Union are being used to make a comparison between how much the same population do trust the news. The person as itself is a main propagation of the virus, and the site is to guarantee the total understanding of the importance of the high institutes of health recommendations.

How We Developed This Project

Our group was motivated by the desire to assist in the journey between science and the population in the fight against COVID-19.There are many challenges in this battle, one of which is the rise of anti-science movements

that spread fake news and, consequently, become important vectors of the disease, as these groups break the quarantine and do not use masks. We want to prove that scientific denialism and other anthropological factors become extremely important factors in raising cases and that information about science can save lives.
