Our device will help detect the increasing of the cases, and will help also in ending the lockdown, as you can test if you are infected or not before entering any supermarket, airport, etc...
When we heard about the challenge me and my team was already working on our solution, and we found that it fits to this challenge. It has long been recognized that particles expelled during human expiatory, such as sneezing, coughing, talking, and breathing. These droplets are the main reason of infection for SARS-CoV-2 virus. Currently, there are two existintg methods for virus detection which are PCR test, which indicates the infection, and the antibodies test which indicates that the patient has met the virus. There are no simple testing devices.
Our aim is to develop a quick screening device to detect if humans exhale contains corona virus particles this is done by using of antibodies sheet in the device.
The patient would exhale into a disposable tip leading into a tube, through which the water droplets would be channeled into an fluidity device which includes a sorting area. This sorting area uses the difference of inertial forces between bigger and smaller droplets to separate them in a spiral. The fluorescent probes, in an aqueous solution within a removable cartridge, would be nebulized and thus injected in the device as “probe droplets”. At the outlet of the spiral, the droplets flow into a merging area made of a simple “Y” channel which merges the exhaled droplets with "probe droplets" containing the fluorescent antibody.
We will added a micro-controller to the device to create a fire-base cloud for the data to help in collecting and record the data the device will give.
