Personal Health Assistant

Summary

The challenge is to identify patterns between human activity and cases of COVID19 and to identify factors that can help predict critical points in the spread of the disease. Our idea is to develop an App that we call Personal Health Assistant, which will be integrated anonymously (protecting the user) to a health platform. The application aims to inform, educate, motivate, deny “fake news” about COVID-19 and take care of the user's health, gathering geographic and statistical data that enable health authorities to identify propagation “hotspots”, so that they take mitigating and educational measures in a timely and objective way.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The positive impact will happen in the better application of resources due to the information in real time, in the location of the infected and the potential points of infection, thus generating a mapping of the areas that should receive more attention by the health authorities. The information will be updated automatically, with the collection of geographic data and also by the user himself, using the IOS and Android platform, and by the public entities at the time they inform the daily bulletin. It has a friendly, simple and objective interface, conquering the user and generating awareness and reducing contamination. It is an innovative approach in serving a community, both local and global, for its simplicity. It can function in the real world due to its low complexity, as a bridge of direct communication between the citizen and the government health platform. Avoids the unnecessary trip of the user who does not have COVID-19 to health units, mitigating possible contamination and reducing the disease spread curve.

How We Developed This Project

The project is technologically realistic because it uses simple, widely accessible and tested technologies, such as geographic location, web services, local and distributed databases. It will be used on Web, Android and IOS platforms. It is also realistic in scientific terms, including from a statistical point of view, as long as it reaches a representative number of users in the studied population. It also uses data from reliable sources, such as NASA, EAS and Governments. The purpose of the application is to be easy to access, not intrusive and intuitive.
