The emergence and spread of infectious diseases, like COVID-19, are on the rise. Can you identify patterns between population density and COVID-19 cases and identify factors that could help predict hotspots of disease spread?

Summary

Our idea depends mainly on “Divergent Markets”. Divergent Markets will be distributed in every city so that it can cover the whole country. Divergent Markets will sell anything people need from food to medical and economy supplies. Those markets are much bigger than normal markets and have more security control. Every person will keep at least 1 meter between him and other people so that the virus doesn't spread. The application that we will design will help people find the nearest market.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our project as it is explained an application for searching about the nearest market to buy supplies for life. As this application will help customers and sellers, it will activate the economy and increase income although the difficult conditions of COVID 19. Our application helps to control the spread of COVID 19. We concluded that the infection will increase as there are many people who try to buy their supplies, so this app will tell people Which markets are crowded to avoid them and which markets are empty or not crowded. This will help in a great way to reduce the infection. Markets where People who try to buy supplies are predictable hotspots of disease spread and by the application, spread and infection will be reduced.

How We Developed This Project

The human factors challenge is basically based on the high population density which facilitates the virus spread process. We found that stepping out of people could be controlled through a system of divergent markets, instead of opening all markets which helps in spreading the virus. The system of divergent markets can be controlled using our app. The app depends on satellites used in google maps app, which is modified using flutter (software of using high-performance apps that feel natural on different platforms). This software could be use to identify the points used by satellites that is distributing these markets around the city. Our team could get the idea of working the app and how we can debug it. However, we couldn’t create the app to be ready to use, because of shortage of the time we had.
