COVID-19 Pandemic Integrated Simulator I| An Integrated Assessment

An Integrated Assessment

Your challenge is to integrate various Earth Observation-derived features with available socio-economic data in order to discover or enhance our understanding of COVID-19 impacts.

Intergalactic COVID Tracker

Summary

Our team built a simulator based on the project brief. We filtered out the signal from all of the noise in the data. We synthesised the Space Data with the Socio- Economic Data to build our Simulator.

How We Addressed This Challenge

On brief - Synthesise NASA space with socio - economic data effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic

The following example shows how we integrated Space and Socio Economic Data https://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/isachse/SpaceAppsChallenge-COVID-19-Pandemic-Integrated-Simulator/blob/master/html/MadridCovid-19_timeline.html

How We Developed This Project

The Boardgame "Pandemic" inspired us to build a simulator.

We used one of the Members Twitter Data to build a rough timeline of how the Pandemic Spread.

As the Data sample was too large we narrowed our focus to the EMEA region - with data samples from Italy and Spain

We used Agile Methodology and the latest Software Tools to iterate our Simulation

(Trello, Github, Slack and Zoom Meetings in addition to the Space Apps Chat Channels and spoke to our NASA mentors)

Data & Resources

1. References to Data used added to our Github repository above. ( NASA and Partners Data was used as per the brief.)

2. Twitter data was also used from one of the members accounts with their permission to draw up a rough restrospective timeline of COVID events.

3. We used the TikTok App with effects and music provided by the app and uploaded it to Youtube for the demo

4. All data we used is open source and freely offered for public use to help against COVID-19
