An Integrated Assessment

Your challenge is to integrate various Earth Observation-derived features with available socio-economic data in order to discover or enhance our understanding of COVID-19 impacts.

Our project is an IOT system that consist of two parts 1-mobile app 2- node(mcu) with DH11 sensor

Summary

The system we made consists of two parts .first, an android application built in kotlin language. it has 3 main functionalities. 1- it shows the up-to-date statistics of novel coronavirus around the world .2- portion is the MP android line chart where the temperature of the user will be displayed concerning time.3- A boot which analyses the user symptoms and displays the right action for the user The second part is the sensor and node(MCU) that measure the temperature of the user and send it

How We Addressed This Challenge

The system we made increase our understanding of COVID-19 by :

  1. Displays the COVID-19 cases around the world ,the recovered cases and the deaths cased by the virus
  2. the System measure the temperature of the  user to let him observe the change in his temperature over the time to make sure that he is safe
  3. If the user got COVID- 19 in any time the hospital can see his recorded temperature measurement and study the time exactly the virus need to show the other symptoms
  4.  By addressing the time the patient caught the virus the COVID-19 search team can study the places that the patient visited and the Social mistakes he did
  5. The companies can use our system with their workers to detect the COVID-19 causes in the very beginning and stop the spreading

How We Developed This Project

our project is divided into two main system : hardware system(including node mcu and the sensor) , software system (an android application).  The process of our solution development splits into two portions. First, the ideation portion as we thought and searched about all the possible technologies and previous solutions. After that , the prototyping process which took more effort and time. In this stage, we started to build our real project , develop it in both directions (hardware and software ) and try to make it eligible for public using. One important thing which inspired me and my team to choose this challenge was that corona-virus is becoming increasingly dangerous and over 214 countries are negatively affected by the spread of the virus. As a result , our team believed that it was necessary to enhance of our covid 19 impact and we targeted this challenge. We have utilize some space agency data in constructing our project such as WHO Covid-19 dashboard which provided us with some useful statistics about the virus and its spread.  We also have took advantage of NASA Covid 19 pathfinders. It provided us useful information about the environmental change due to the change in human activities and behaviors which helped us to realize and represent the impacts of covid 19 . it also allowed us to utilize more statistics to give the user a clear image about the current situation and enhance his/her understanding of the virus spread dangers. To build our solution, we have used plenty of technologies and tools. For example, we used kotlin as the main programming language for our android application , we also have used “infermedica” API which helped us to add the medical assistant functionality to our application. For hardware portions we have used a lot of tools like node mcu which was the master mind of our system and responsible for dealing with the temperature sensor. We have faced some problems while constructing our project like dealing with the APIs and how we can connect it to our software system. We solved these problems by searching  and seeking help for some experts. More over , we were able to achieve our target and learn many useful skills.
