The Isolation Solution

Social distancing policies enacted the world over during the COVID-19 pandemic have left many people socially isolated. Your challenge is to develop innovative solutions to combat social isolation.

Remember Project

Summary

The project is developed with a focus on solving the problems derived from social isolation, which most commonly result in depression, stress and acute loneliness. With viable technologies we present the perfect combination of social interaction through technologies capable of solving the problems that isolation provides. “Remember” allows the moments experienced to be able to be reproduced with sensations, such as touch, hearing, vision and also temperature. This product is able to perform social interactions with very high definition and ensure the user can capture and visualize unique and unforgettable moments.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The “Remember” project is considered strong in the Galactic Impact category because it addresses a concern with the two audiences: people on earth and people in space, who are restricted by social isolation, a topic that has always caused difficulties, physically and emotionally for the human being. Therefore, a solution was made that can be applied for both the terrestrial and the spatial environment, which poses to eliminate or reduce significantly the psychological effects of eventual isolation.

How We Developed This Project

The inspiration for solving the issues of social isolation was to go deeper into an ongoing topic which takes into consideration the serious side effects on the mental health of the human being. We wanted to create a device that made it possible to innovate space missions and social relations, with the main goal of solving the problems related to social distancing and isolationand its psychological consequences. We used data from NASA from their lectures and materials in human research, to obtain information about the consequences of social isolation. Other tools we used include Google Drive, Discord, GoodBarber, Filmora, Office Pack, Canva, Photoshop, Giphy, Tivemos,  We had to replan some ideas during the development to better align our ideas and the viability of the project. With this, we successfully made our project’s development more fluid.
