We decided to solve the isolation problem by integrating people who have been experiencing social isolation for a very long time, like astronauts and people on expedition to Antarctica, and we decided to bring their knowledge to our reality, even though we know the we are dealing with completely different situations, but the effects on mental health are very similar and we feel like we can all contribute with other in this moment of crises.
We decided to choose this challenge because the effect of social isolation like anxiety, boredom and stress are things that we all are experiencing during this pandemic moment. The approach we have decided to take is to create a social network because it’s something that we are all familiar with and would be easier to use. The data provided by NASA served as inspiration so that we could understand the reality of the people who are isolated in Antarctica and in space, and that touched to learn more about them and include them in our idea developing empathy. Because our team doesn’t have anyone who is a programmer, we could idealize the idea for the app, that was the main problem of our team
