The Isolation Solution

Social distancing policies enacted the world over during the COVID-19 pandemic have left many people socially isolated. Your challenge is to develop innovative solutions to combat social isolation.

Nurses "Astronauts" in hospitals

Summary

Combating Covid-19 is the highest priority in the world, nurses are our "astronauts" who are at the forefront of this battle. The solution is the psychological assessment of cognitive and behavioral aspects related to well-being and health on a recurring basis through an application with psychosomatic monitoring test, with questions directed to sleep, fatigue, attention, concentration and a psychomotor test, the results will direct the self-recognition through feedback provided by a psychologist, specialist in neuropsychodiagnosis. It is important because it provides preventive follow-up to our nurses, thus mitigating the withdrawal of essential professionals today.

How We Addressed This Challenge

This project intends, based on the database and research developed by NASA, to find out what major cognitive and physiological factors that can potentiate the suffering of these health professionals who are in situations like astronauts (extreme isolation from society, adverse environments, non-regular work schedules compromising the circadian cycle, high workload, level of attention to (handling of equipment, dosage of drugs and patients) and analyzing data measured in the system about your health and psychomotor test being an instrument for prevention, monitoring , administration and reduction of absenteeism and human errors in health networks. The "Psychomotor Monitoring Test" system checks the response time by pressing the fingerprint in an area delimited in the application, checking the state of attention and questions related to sleep health and issues thus, regularly analyzing the progress of the measured data, the same month mo aims to anticipate actions to mitigate psychological problems or human errors. Like the report by nurse Camila S. S. dismissed by (ICD 10 F41.0 Panic disorder) for being on the front line in the fight against COVID-19, stating that a system like this could have predicted its condition in advance.

How We Developed This Project

- What inspired our team: Health professionals are essential in combating COVID-19. These professionals find themselves in inhospitable situations as astronauts: Extreme isolation from society, adverse environments, non-regular working hours compromising the circadian cycle, high workload, level of attention to (handling of equipment, dosage of medicines and patients) . - Nurse Camila S. S. reports that she had (ICD 10 F41.0 Panic disorder) after weeks in the hospital on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19 and was removed from her duties, reports that several nurses are going through the same problems. The consequences in the short, medium and long term are: cognitive decline, attention deficit - memory and sleep deprivation - The solution to this problem is urgent and necessary as it affects professionals essential in the world society to combat COVID-19 and several professionals are being dismissed for psychological problems affected by the Pandemic moment.

- We developed an application for nurses to use on their cell phones. the application system checks the response time by pressing the fingerprint in an area delimited in the application, checking the state of attention and questions related to sleep health and issues thus, regularly analyzing the progress of the measured data, the same month mo aims to anticipate actions to mitigate psychological problems or human errors.

-  We use Microsoft's Power Apps and SharePoint technology, using a cloud database and developing the solution in low-code.

- We had little time in building the application. But we had a great accomplishment in the tests with volunteer nurses who were in the hospital and used our solution.
