Using some researches from Yale, UERJ and some reports we found about the feelings in space, we found that one of the most predominant feelings in isolation is loneliness. Our project aims to create a way for people to share experiences and be able to feel the world even when physically incapable.
We were inspired to choose this challenge because each one of us can feel the effects of the social isolation. People becoming truly affected by the lack of human touch. When we started development, we had several different ideas pulling in different directions, each with their own pros and cons. We settled on the VR Experience InsideOut after showing a quick summarized version to our mentor and hearing her interesting remarks made us settle for this one. Our usage of the Space Agency data came in two ways, we first used the data to home in on the issue and see it's applicability both on the ground and on space and then we used a public API on Nasa's website to help create a interactive map that allows one to choose where to explore.
