The isolation is the solution for COVID-19; however, the isolation itself is considered a problem that needs a solution. No one actually knows when this isolation will end, which stimulates everyone's need for finding a way to spend their time. Most of the people spend their time in the wrong way.
Consequently, we developed a website that will make people spend their time in a more prosperous way. Since isolation lessens cohesiveness among people, we came up with the idea of making a cultural exchange program, and, for the sake of relevance, it was built to increase the awareness of the current pandemic and remark on how serious the situation is. Additionally, the platform provides them with useful information about COVID-19 and pushes notifications for the users notifying them to wash their hands. The section where everything about COVID-19 is gathered possesses information from internationally authorized open-source data. This section will assist the applicants who are going to be accepted in the exchange program along their path until the end.
Addressing the problem of isolation is vital. We need to bring everyone together and establish various ways to make them connect and increase the bond of communication and cooperation among young potential students. We live in an era where technological evolution is at its best, so there are never excuses for addressing this problem and finding a way around it. However, it is not only this problem that is being addressed in our solution.
In addition to fighting isolation, we are fighting the rate of ignorance people have shown to this virus. And since students and youngsters are the keys to a better future, they have the right to know about the seriousness of the situation. As a result, the exchange program we are presenting is mainly about COVID-19 with various projects such as making a research paper or innovating an idea then applying it in real-life to prove its applicability. In this process, students can unleash their potential and gain valuable knowledge about it and prepare for a situation similar to it in the future.
What inspired us is basically the fact that the need for communication and its implementation between every one of us is crucial for our existence as humans. It is a daily activity that ensures the exchange of ideas, and even jokes, to strengthen our bond of communication. The second factor that contributed to our selection was the amount of ignorance we have observed concerning the current situation.
Our approach was rather axiomatic and straightforward. We figured out that the most number of individuals that will benefit from valuable information is the ones who are wise and mental enough to understand and digest them. Consequently, not only we approached our solution for gathering people together to communicate, learn, and exchange cultures, but also we gathered them to unleash their potential and enrich their knowledge with vital information to innovate ideas and apply them under expert supervisors.
They will do so by using the knowledge in the section of quarancovid-19 dedicated only to help them in their research and innovation process. This section contains data from every visual authorized open-data source—sources such as ESA and WHO are all present in this section. Students will use this data to fulfill their project's requirements and tasks.
Throughout the process, we used the free domain and website builder that was offered to us to build a website that contains everything we had thought of. Additionally, we used html and css coding knowledge in order to build the part in the FAQS section, and the link of the code will be found in the repository.
Problems were faced in the process of building the site itself due to the unfamiliarity of using a site builder. However, it did not last too long, as we were able to learn it fast. The achievement that we are most proud of is having the opportunity to get started in building a site that would turn out to be a successful project in the future.
