A New Perspective

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, protected areas and other forms of wilderness areas (e.g., arboretums, beaches, parks, marine monuments) have been closed worldwide. Your challenge is to lead the effort to examine any potential impacts of reduced human traffic in such local protected natural environments.

Reconnect

Summary

It will have card areas for you to choose and track. Those cards will have some aspects, such as an intern gallery and a button to acess the "visit" page. When you "visit" the area in the card, you will be presented to an array of indicators, which shows you data if there is available for that area. So, the national park of Yellowstone may have different indicator than Alter do Chão, in Brazil. Along with the indicators, there will be an overview text of the area. The indicators will be presented to the user as a card, with 2 buttons: a "covid button" that shows comparative information from the "Before Covid" and the "During Covid" period.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Some indicators, such as air and water polution, are directly  connected with the human presence. So we want to show how those indicators are changing, since the society is living isolated, which does not excludes other indicators from participating on the indicator array summary.

How We Developed This Project

We want to show the world how the human presence affects the Earth planet. Along with the natural indicators, social indicators are changing: not only the wild life is raising again, but the depression occurrencies is too. So, we want to solve both problems: we want to show how much difference you can make just by taking care of our planet in an post-isolation period, but we want to people to feel connected with the places that they love.
