Purify the Air Supply

Has your time spent indoors increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of stay-at-home and shelter-in-place policies worldwide? Your challenge is to use the International Space Station (ISS) as inspiration and develop a system to monitor and/or purify indoor air. It is entirely up to you whether the system you design is able to be used on Earth (for example in homes, businesses, transportation, etc.) and/or in space.

Autonomous Air Cleaning Robot

Summary

The Estoca Vento team developed an Autonomous Air Cleaning Robot that cleans and purifies the air from the entire environment without harming nature and provides a better quality of life. The project is technologically realistic, innovative and autonomous. It is made by a 3D filament structure, rechargeable battery, UV filter, sterilizers and particle filters that make it possible to eliminate viruses, bacteria, fungi efficiently. In addition, a mobile application was developed for its monitoring, which has a wifi system, prototype battery check, remote voice command, chatbot and location map.

How We Addressed This Challenge

For challenge 8 - Purify the Air Supply, an Autonomous Air Cleaning Robot was developed to perform the function of purifying the air, to make it more pure. In addition, it can filter and eliminate viruses, bacteria and fungi. Due to the pandemic of COVID-2019 and people having to have social isolation and are in closed environments this way, they are more immune to the virus, with the use of the prototype it will carry out the fight against it and other biological agents.

How We Developed This Project

What inspired the team to carry out the challenge was to provide people a safe environment. This way, for the development of the project, some tools were used to make the prototype modeling and the mobile application. The tools used were: illustrator, justmind, xsplit, unreal engineer, audacity, and adobe premiere. The challenges for the carry of the project in the tools was the process of modeling and animation.
