Purify the Air Supply

Has your time spent indoors increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of stay-at-home and shelter-in-place policies worldwide? Your challenge is to use the International Space Station (ISS) as inspiration and develop a system to monitor and/or purify indoor air. It is entirely up to you whether the system you design is able to be used on Earth (for example in homes, businesses, transportation, etc.) and/or in space.

Systematic Air Control Integration - SACI

Summary

SACI is a air filtering system it has as mainly components enzymatic detergent and UV lights, filtering so an antisepitc way the air The project consists basically in two parts, the first one with enzymatic detergent steam diluted in water, wich will be in a espiral pipe to elevate the contact with the air and it goes to another part with UV light to destroy any remaining microorganisms, the design of uv chamber is thinked to improves the contact with air. The final part is a refrigerated chamber to condesate the detergent steam cleaning the air and capturte it again to begin the process again.

How We Addressed This Challenge

By analysis we saw that there was a significant reduction in the emission of pollution during the social isolation caused by COVID-19

With this reduction in pollution, added to the already effective methods used to purify the air from toxic gases, we think about the need to also add biological control, using a air filter that can sterialize the air.

It fits the premise of Purify the Air Supply challenge

How We Developed This Project

We used some data from air analisys provided by nasa like https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2020/drop-in-air-pollution-over-northeast
to see the problematic and base our solution
when we saw the life support system (https://www.nasa.gov/content/life-support-systems) we had the idea to bring something similar here, down to earth.
we used DraftSight,  our plural knowledge  and creativity to project the idea
Our biggest achievements was the idealization of technical part of a idea, and we did it
