Purify the Air Supply

Has your time spent indoors increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of stay-at-home and shelter-in-place policies worldwide? Your challenge is to use the International Space Station (ISS) as inspiration and develop a system to monitor and/or purify indoor air. It is entirely up to you whether the system you design is able to be used on Earth (for example in homes, businesses, transportation, etc.) and/or in space.

Summary

Because of increasing in the indoor air pollution nowadays, We decided to make an air filtration alone-stand system that consist of 4 stages to purify the air from large pollutants molecules , volatile organic compounds and biological like pollen , house dust that can make serious diseases using mesh filters , electrostatic force and activated carbon for more smaller particles . also , we used UV light that destroy DNA of the harm biological organisms and can kill 99% of viruses and germs .

How We Addressed This Challenge

It helps people  to make there indoor air more better , healthier to breath  after they are  spent their most of times indoor because of Covid 19  pandemic  , and this prototype can be applicable also for astronauts  how lives in the space station all of time in the missions.

How We Developed This Project

we searched for many prior solution for this problem and looked to its pros and cons and collected the data that can help us understanding the problem from NASA , ESA and other research papers . then we choosed the best and cheaper  matrials , applicable techniques  and It was well planned and built it in a creative way to work together with high efficiency and low cost.
