Purify the Air Supply

Has your time spent indoors increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of stay-at-home and shelter-in-place policies worldwide? Your challenge is to use the International Space Station (ISS) as inspiration and develop a system to monitor and/or purify indoor air. It is entirely up to you whether the system you design is able to be used on Earth (for example in homes, businesses, transportation, etc.) and/or in space.

How I Developed This Project

Realization of a heat recovery machine that is able to filter and neutralize the bacteria active in the lamps and ozone ignition systems, the electronics will have to manage the air flows and guarantee the maximum introduction into the environment of uncontaminated air, and constantly monitor the indicated parameters. it will have to be able to self-disinfect itself to always guarantee maximum performance and safety for the environments it must purify. Must be able to warn the user of any anomalies and malfunctioning systems, isolating the user from any contamination from covid or other.
