Purify the Air Supply

Has your time spent indoors increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of stay-at-home and shelter-in-place policies worldwide? Your challenge is to use the International Space Station (ISS) as inspiration and develop a system to monitor and/or purify indoor air. It is entirely up to you whether the system you design is able to be used on Earth (for example in homes, businesses, transportation, etc.) and/or in space.

Advanced Air Purification

Summary

Air and water are the basis of life on the planet Earth, but it is the basis of life even with progress and our attempt to move to Mars is the main thing that we consider is the air to breathe and water for living. After forty years of development, LSS technologies have advanced a great deal but remain heavily dependent on Earth. Sending life-sustaining supplies ‭250‬ miles to the International Space Station (ISS) requires careful planning,  and a robust international supply chain for delivery in one or two  days after launch.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Recently, the world suffers from various problems. One of these problems is air pollution. This problem which can affect several aspects in our life. It contributes in morbidity of asthma or cancers and many other diseases. Lots of people think when they hear about air pollution that it is polluted by harmful gases only! But in truth there are several types of microorganisms like viruses or bacteria that can affect us seriously

Now we can see that the whole world suffers from the pandemic, COVID 19 and it could be a direct explanation of how air pollution can make us suffer from these serious diseases. People cannot lock their doors and prevent the polluted air to reach them. So to control these problems we proposed some solutions that suit both of Earth and space environments. So, Our solutions focus on: Filtering the indoor air from viruses, microbes, harmful gases, and particle matter (PM) and recycling it through some ways that suit both of Earth and space environments.
