Purify the Air Supply

Has your time spent indoors increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of stay-at-home and shelter-in-place policies worldwide? Your challenge is to use the International Space Station (ISS) as inspiration and develop a system to monitor and/or purify indoor air. It is entirely up to you whether the system you design is able to be used on Earth (for example in homes, businesses, transportation, etc.) and/or in space.

Summary

Our idea is making some modification on airborne filters toavoid the disadvantages. we face some problems that the virus is too small tobe purified. so, the HEPA cannot purify it .so we direct to other filters likeUV filter that can kill the small viruses but we face another problem that the UV is harmful if someone exposes to it can cause skin cancer so we usethe technology of electronics to launch the radiation with limit by using somesensors that can sense the DNA or the RNA of the viru

How We Addressed This Challenge

we were totally interested in filters that purify the air from viruses and worked on how we overcome the covid_19 from the air ,and from researches we found out HEPA filter it was extremely effective but had a problem with corona virus because of its so tiny size so we worked on developing HEPA filter several times and we found out that the best way to achieve our aim would be with a radiation like the  UVwe were totally interested in filters that purify the air from viruses and worked on how we overcome the covid_19 from the air ,and from researches we found out HEPA filter it was extremely effective but had a problem with corona virus because of its so tiny size so we worked on developing HEPA filter several times and we found out that the best way to achieve our aim would be with a radiation like the  UVThe tools that we use logic gates from the type of NOT and

sensor by using the Arduino language. we face a lot of problems one of that the

virus is too small to be purified by the ordinary filter or by the HEPA. So, we

searched About other filters that can purify the coronavirus that its size less

than 0.3 micros so, we chose the UV filters that can kill all the types of

viruses whatever it is size small or not. Another problem that faces us but we

overcome it the disadvantages of the UV and its negative side effect if a person

exposes to it directly so we suggest use sensors that can sense the DNA or the

RNA of the virus so we will launch the radiation with a limit. And the logic gate

inside the room we suggest to put it in the button so if someone turns on the light

the UV filter turn off. So the team achieve UV filter with high technology and

with high safety.NASA site is one of the very important sites that helped us to obtain many very important information.  Below, I will show some of this important information when we wanted to use the ultraviolet light.  We searched one of the sites that were shown by NASA, which is called Canada, and we found this important information There are three kinds of UV rays: UV-A is the weakest form, but can still cause skin damage, including sunburn, and  skin aging.  It can also damage outdoor plastics and paint.  UV-B is much stronger than UV-A.  It is the main causeWhen we searched for information about HEPA and its types, it helped us a lot and gave us a lot of important information, for exampleevacuation device means equipment that is attached to a tank cover that contains a HEPA filter and that is used  to remove any hexavalent chromium compounds remaining in the volume of air beneath the closed tank cover at the completion of chromium electroplating, chromium anodizing or reverse etching and before the tank coverAnd many other important information
