Quiet Planet

The COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting social distancing recommendations and related restrictions have led to numerous short-term changes in economic and social activity around the world, all of which may have impacts on our environment. Your challenge is to use space-based data to document the local to global environmental changes caused by COVID-19 and the associated societal responses.

Awareness website addressing the environmental impacts of Covid-19

Summary

The team was collaborating to make a static website which contains data from NASA and the other agencies to illustrate how Covid-19 affected the environment and from this data, we can conclude how to deal with nature after Covid-19, so we don’t harm it. The work was divided on the team, so four members were responsible for researching and collecting data, and the other two members were responsible for the website.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our project documents how Covid-19 affected the surrounding environment by maps, graphs, and data from NASA and the other agencies by making a static website, and from this, we can conclude how can nature develop without human activities.

How We Developed This Project

Most people don't know about the impacts of their activities on the environment before the virus and when it came. From the data that was collected, it is concluded that the virus affected positively on nature and that the human was harming the environment greatly. The team's project was a static website, so HTML, CSS, and JS were used to make the website, and the data was collected from NASA and the other agencies. The problems that faced the team were time management, searching for data in many places, and the quarantine. Despite these problems, the team made achievements like the design of the website was finished in a good time and it was ready to put the data in it, and every member collected data from reliable databases and agencies.
