SDGs and COVID-19

This challenge invites you to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by looking at the current and ongoing change in the monitoring indicators of the UN SDGs using Earth observation/remote sensing and global Earth system model-derived analysis products.

First Food

Summary

Our projects are based on an automated distribution system that seeks to bring producers closer to merchants at their points of sale, ensuring food safety through a virus and bacteria detection system that uses ultraviolet light. If it is detected that the products contain a high percentage of these elements, they are disinfected again, assuring the customer of minimal or no existence of bacteria and viruses.https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1bg7r2YGZxeZiJXJQRAyPHQwOLkrPGqLWLA53Kp0lWOQ/edit?usp=sharing

How We Addressed This Challenge

To solve the problem we will make use of the databases and open information resources of NASA EARTHDATA search, NASA GES DISC and Earth and space observation technologies, we will create a strategic and technological one to minimize the risks that arise in the production and food distribution.

How We Developed This Project

In the current context, one of the most urgent needs of the population is to ensure the food of their families. Some people have lost their jobs or cannot afford to stop working. There is also a fear of getting it every time people need to leave their homes in search of food. This motivated us to develop our proposal. Our focus is to ensure supply and product reliability.

To better understand how the situation is in the food industry, we use different databases, we process and interpret them to answer some questions we had.

A problem that is often overlooked is the negative effects of air pollution on crops. The economic impact of loss of crop yield due to contamination is significant worldwide.

In the project we use the following programming languages: Java, Python, Firebase, Open CV, Arduino, Flask FrameWork.
