Our challenge is to develop creative solutions that use earth observations to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and foster sustainable development worldwide. Use NASA and other earth observating satallites data as well as information generated by crowd. Sourcing and in_situ measurment to creat practical applications that support environmental and societal policy across water, health, food security and use domains
We started to search about what is the meant by UN SDGs and we know a lot of information about it like The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are adopted by all the member states of the UN in 2015, to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity by 2030. The 17 integrated SDGs focus on the several aspects of sustainability, including social, economic and environmental sustainability. Then we searched about the effects that covid-19 caused on the goals and we started to use earth observation and earth global system to know many things that can help us and we know that:-
Because of the emergence of the spread of the new virus, called covid-19. SDGs' targets were negatively affected, which led to the failure of UN SDGs during this period. We hope that through this article we have suggested useful solutions to these problems. The targets affected by the spread of the virus are:-
(SDG2: Zero Hunger):-
The agricultural sector is going through a crisis at present because of the impact of COVID-19. There is a huge demand for agriculture these days. However, due to lockdown, transportation of agricultural produce has come down drastically. Due to lack or insufficient lift off of the harvest, the produce is getting rotted on a farm, causing huge loss of income to the farmers. This also causesimmense economic and mental stress. And after mentioning all that we knew from earth observation, we started thinking about a solution and we came up with: -By monitoring agricultural lands that are not used in the UN, they must exploit them to grow products that have less food that have a reason for food shortages through advanced agricultural machinery and support each state to the other in order to eliminate food shortages, which will lead to increased resources and food products. The economy will increase by selling and exchanging these products.
(SDG3: Health and being well):-
There are some developing countries that suffer from lack of health and medical care, especially in light of the emerging Corona virus, as they do not have a huge amount of doctors to be able to overcome this virus, unlike developed countries that have advanced medical care equipped with the latest capabilities and they have overcome this deadly epidemic from them Germany, Sweden, Japan, and South Korea Henry are statistics for case ratios. The idea of you and me being together.1 is that countries that have recovered from the virus and have doctors: medical equipment with state-of-the-art means, such as Germany, which has more than 29,000 respirators and experienced doctors, should send this medical staff to countries suffering from this epidemic to help them stabilize their health.Doctors of the world spread expertise and awareness over the Internet and provide scientific and health books through existing sources to help medical students in these developing countriesThe United Nations must support governments in addressing the health and humanitarian crisis, mobilize financial resources to release the global economy and send hiv-protective devices by air.
(SDG6: Availability and sustainable management of water and
sanitation):-
The occurrence of COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the fore the very important issue of clean water and sanitation. Availability of clean water, sanitation and hygiene are essential to prevent and protect human beings, especially during the present crisis. The government is at pains to improve sanitation facilities as hygiene as a major tool to combat the virus. Due to the lack of industrial activity, the availability of water poses no challenge to the government. It is a fact that many people lack access to clean water and sanitation. The situation has only worsened because of a lack of safely managed wash services, which are critical during the recovery phase of the pandemic outbreak. Such healthy practices lessen infections which lower the pressure put on institutions, health delivery systems. We discovered through earth observation that there is untapped water such as groundwater and seas and rain, such as their dependence on rivers and with the spread of the virus this led to more dependence on water and less water resources and therefore we proposed a solution and is the exploitation of these water resources through analysis and Its purification will lead to an increase in the proportion of water resources and the absence of a shortage in all countries.
(SDG7: Energy access and Resilience):-
The ongoing pandemic has affected all humanity. The renewable energy sector which was poised for growth and showing signs of contributing to climate change has run into rough weather. The falling oil prices and global financial woes have further placed obstructions towards the increase in capacity of affordable and clean energy.Reliable, affordable and accessible energy supplies are essential to enabling basic services, including health care, to ensure that we candrive economic recovery. In the context of themers-cov crisis, access to clean and affordableenergy for health care and avoiding air pollutionhas become essentialAnd when we studied energy statistics,We have found that about 50 % of global timber production, or 1.86billion cubic metres, today provides firewood to 40 % of the world'sestimated total renewable energy supply fromsolar, hydropower and wind power, and forestsprovide fuel for heating and cooking, industrialneeds and watershed protection to enablehydropower generationThe idea of a solution Countries must protect gains already madePolicies to promote long-term investments inwood energy
3 forest conservation and large machinery to help forests produce maximum wind
(SDG11: Sustainable cities and communities):-
The situation has only worsened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown has stranded people and rendered them out of work. The loss of income and the uncertainty of the job
continuation is causing stress and anxiety. The migrant
workers are out on the streets protesting the lack of transport to reach out to their families in other
states. Scarcity of food is another big
dilemma along with homelessness. People do not have
money to pay the rents. It is also difficult-in crowded cities to maintain social distancing norms. This
resulted in more people being affected
by the deadly virus as we see in New York. We need a future
in which cities provide opportunities
for all, with access to basic services, energy, housing, transportation and more.Over 1.6 billion make and female students dropped out of schools because of covid virus 19 which
means about 80 percent the problem we face in distance education for developing countries are their
poor capabilities and the difficulty of internet connectivity I suggest that states do full social monitoring
of students with access to internet have many educational plat forms to learn from and demand television and they don't have much internet you need to more educational programs and students whodid not have the internet and did not have a TV suggested that the state open schools for them while
taking all full precautions it is known that the number of in educated people in developing countries is
high so if we monitor students students with technology and the rest of students will open schools and
receive education electronically via the school computers.
(SDG15: Life on Land):-
The biggest takeaway from the pandemic is the nature of the relationship between man and nature
which can be described as dysfunctional. There is ample study to prove that mindless destruction
of forests and wildlife has given rise to various infectious diseases and the COVID-19 is no
exception. There’s only one question that we as humans need to answer and address and that is,
how can we use this tragedy and turn it into an opportunity? Now is the time to take strict action
against poaching and illegal wildlife trade. As dependent as they are on the oceans human life depends
on the earth for subsistence and livelihood vegetation on earth provides 80 percent of human food
agriculture as an important economic resources and the most important means of development and
forests covering 30 percent of the earth surface provide the natural habitat for millions of species and
baskets of flora and fauna. today we are witnessing unprecedented land degardation with arable land
being lost at 30 to 35 times the historical rate drought and desertification are increasing each year with loss of 12 million hectares sustainable development goals are having a significant impact on poor
communities by 2020 the sustainable development goals are reaching for the conservation and restoration of the use of terrestrial ecosystems such as forests fourth lands dry lands and mountains part of whole human common heritage .
