SDGs and COVID-19

This challenge invites you to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by looking at the current and ongoing change in the monitoring indicators of the UN SDGs using Earth observation/remote sensing and global Earth system model-derived analysis products.

Sustainable Ways To Increase Yield

Summary

This project discusses the imminent rise in chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides after the pandemic in order to bounce back from the current agricultural recession. Here we have discussed the sustainable methods to increase crop yield that benefits health, environment, and population as a whole.

How We Addressed This Challenge

When we can sustainably increase crop yield, despite the challenges we face, we can get a lot of benefit in return. It's eco-friendly project not just maintains environmental balance but also helps in improvising human health. In the present context, the more crops we can produce, the more we can feed the people suffering from hunger and mainly serve the needy ones. In today's context we can find more number of people die from hunger rather due to the diseases. So, this project can play a catalytic role in reducing the number of ongoing deaths and suicide caused by hunger.

How We Developed This Project

SDGs are  very much relevant, especially now. So we wanted to share our ideas on how we could contribute to the successful materialization of the goals. Once we recognized that food and agriculture would be heavily impacted by this recession, we wanted to tackle the challenge. In terms of tools we've used succession, filimgo, and movavi. Whilst the development process we struggled with analyzing the data in a way that would aid us. However finally, we have been able to come up with a pragmatic solution that addresses a burning problem in todRay's context.
