Where There’s a Link, There’s a Way

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there has been a proliferation of websites and portals developed to share resources about the topic. Your challenge is to find innovative ways to present and analyze integrated, real-time information about the environmental factors affecting the spread of COVID-19.

Korona - A Companion Application for COVID19

Summary

Our project gathers the information about COVID-19 of all the countries of the world from an open source API and analyzes them against the weather, humidity, temperature, and air quality from different respective open source APIs and provides an output of likelihood of recovery and death based on the analysis.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Our application analyses weather data, COVID19 data and air quality to determine the spread, effect and likelihood of this disease recovery, or death

How We Developed This Project

Through this challenge we can reach countless people across the glob, provide them knowledge, guide on this ongoing pandemic for their safety and awareness. Our approach was to first analys existing COVID19 cases data for each country, along with weather information, environment, air quality to find a pattern and then develop an application to reach countless people though it. we use native android development with android studio, along with kotlin as our coding language. We used 3 separate open source API for our data source. openweathermap, openaq and covid API sources for data analysis. Some of the most complex problem we faced was with analysing our data and finding a pattern based on COVID19 cases and its country weather data to determine its spread and likelihood of  recovery or death.
