Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there has been a proliferation of websites and portals developed to share resources about the topic. Your challenge is to find innovative ways to present and analyze integrated, real-time information about the environmental factors affecting the spread of COVID-19.

Summary

The scientific language is inaccessible to those outside this community, making it difficult to arouse the interest of those who have no contact with this language by the information coming from that community, resulting in the consumption and dissemination of fake news.Our objective is: through an API, to gather on a platform the new scientific studies related to Covid-19 and the environment, to simplify its language through a playful way WITH A FOCUS on the child audience, placing it as a vector for the dissemination of information to family and, consequently, to the general population.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Using web scraping and APIs, our platform collects data in real time and from around the world. The information will be converted into a playful pedagogical and journalistic language and will be available on a free access platform for anyone with an internet connection, free of charge.

How We Developed This Project

We were inspired by the search for information in an integral, reliable and simple way.

We use an informative approach that can reach people with less knowledge. we use scientific data from NASA and other sources, and georeferenced map data.

Project was developed to perform data collection using web scraping with the Python programming language and using NASA APIs.

We found a barrier to understand how data collection works, after understanding, we decided that web scraping is the ideal way to meet our project.
