Where There’s a Link, There’s a Way

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there has been a proliferation of websites and portals developed to share resources about the topic. Your challenge is to find innovative ways to present and analyze integrated, real-time information about the environmental factors affecting the spread of COVID-19.

REACTion Project

Summary

A platform that aims to assist in making decisions about COVID-19, showing the impact that each public policy causes by region in simple and easy to understand graphics. We aim to help public managers to make decisions based on predictive data that take into account social and environmental factors in each location, in addition to raising awareness.

How We Addressed This Challenge

Through a platform, we will innovatively display relational data about COVID-19, assisting, for example, in the distribution of public resources to the locations that will most need it according to the website forecast

How We Developed This Project

We note that resources to fight the epidemic are poorly distributed and that many people do not have enough information to deal with the virus. So we created a website that relates information in a useful way. Through a confusion matrix, we decided on the environmental data provided that interfere with the contamination curve, such as temperature and rainfall, and these will be variables for our forecast calculation. The application was developed in React, using apis to access data and display it. Our biggest problem was finding enough theoretical basis for our forecast, we are still refining functions to make the forecast.
