2.- Challenge chosen
Where There’s a Link, There’s a Way
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there has been a proliferation of websites and portals developed to share resources about the topic. Your challenge is to find innovative ways to present and analyze integrated, real-time information about the environmental factors affecting the spread of COVID-19.
3.- Need and Demand
Although there are platforms that present important information on the characteristics of COVID-19 and the global pandemic, with the purpose of each resource it can be adapted to a specific audience and in search of the next evolution in the exploitation of the world of data obtained by integrating the results. of research on current environmental links such as humidity, temperature and socio-demographic factors with the spread of COVID-19, can be analyzed and compared in geographic regions and climatic regimes, with the spread of COVID-19, its tracking, measures of App-based personal level mitigation to adapt human behavior to the new normal and new urban mobility.
4.- Applicability
In search of contributing our ideas like a grain of sand in the sea of
solutions that is in motion at NASA Space Apps Covid-19, we clicked the challenge of Where There's a Link, There's a Way, we precisely looked for a path trying to connect the existing data and information of the Covid-19 linking the studies and website of the positive cases, with the behavior of the virus, correlating the data to present them in the App, in addition to linking the paradigm shift of human beings to provide very private information and staff for the benefit of the entire surrounding community to track covid-19 patients taking care of their privacy to the maximum and avoiding social stigma, all in search of the path that will lead us to the new normal and the new urban mobility.
5.- Objetives to respond
· How can we develop better surveillance tools to connect COVID-19 cases (raw data at the county level) with local / regional environmental factors and determine if there are significant links?
· What can we contribute through an App for the new normality and the new urban mobility?
- What change of paradigm is required in the privacy of covid-19 patients?
· But more important than what level of awareness, commitment and human value is required to help your family, friends and community by providing personal mobility data?
· How can this app become so relevant, important and indispensable for those responsible for formulating public policies and supporting collective decision-making?
6.- Solution
The paradigm is not simply the current theory, but the entire worldview within which it exists, and all the implications that it entails. There are anomalies in all paradigms, Kuhn maintains, that are discarded as acceptable error levels, or simply ignored and ignored.
On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that COVID 19 is a global pandemic; As of March 26, some 2.6 billion people (including 1.3 billion in India alone) are locked up to contain the spread of the virus. The coronavirus outbreak is very likely to have a long-term impact on our individual behavior and lifestyle, the way we work, consume, and travel. Transport, and in particular public transport, is, on the one hand, a vector of global and local spread of the virus.
On the other hand, public transportation is severely affected by the slump in passenger numbers and reduced travel and transportation demand due to travel bans and individual concerns about avoiding public crowds. In addition, in recent days, many countries have closed their borders and imposed curfews, which has led to a sharp reduction in the demand for transport at the regional and continental levels. In many workplaces, home-based work options have been implemented for employees, which can be considered the world's largest experiment in managing transportation demand.
Covid Tracking is an App that is designed to be developed mainly for Android and IOS, to be installed on mobile devices with a mobile internet data connection, since it requires a permission to access the device's internal GPS to track its mobility.
This product starts with user registration, which are categorized into:
· Covid-19 patient·
· Suspect Covid-19
· Symptoms similar to Covid-19
· Non-Covid-19 user
· Educational and scientific institutions
· Health and government institutions
Paradigm is a Greek word that is used to refer to elements that follow some design or model. Therefore, we could say that a paradigm shift is, not only an alteration of the theoretical models that generate scientific consensus, but also a change in the global vision about a certain discipline or science.
There are many examples in history of scientific paradigm shifts, since science, as a collective human enterprise, is capable of being changed and of being able to accept new models, theories and examples. Thus, we could cite the transition between Maxwell's electromagnetic vision and Einstein's relativistic worldview, as one of the most drastic changes.
But there are many more examples in history that involved notable changes, such as the acceptance of the theory of biogenesis or the transition between the vision of Newtonian physics and Einstein's relativistic one.
And it is that the paradigmatic changes are revolutionary, break with established ideas and make us look with historical perspective.
Good scientists are trained to be skeptical and not to be deceived or, more particularly, not to deceive themselves.
In fact, in science and technology it is not shameful to be skeptical of brilliant new paradigms or remarkable discoveries, which prove years later to be true. It is simply considered part of the job.
It is important to change the paradigm in people because a new normal is in the works that will be very different from our previous normal, and there will also be a new form of urban mobility for people, products and services, so new technologies must emerge, applications and solutions that adapt to this new normal and that many lead to a paradigm shift in our consciences.
Covid tracking can be considered as invading the privacy of people, since we use an access to the GPS of the device in order to send the route and position data of the registered person to the database in the cloud, so that it shows the whole of coincident data (not individually) by means of routes used by covid-19 patients, heat maps for concentration of covid patients, with a delay of 10 to 15 minutes, this to avoid pointing people or stigmatizing them.
In the same app, we can get to see recommendations that the same WHO (World Health Organization) is providing us, all this taken from: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html
In these recommendations we talk about points like how do you feel? And what to do? If you have these conditions, how can you protect yourself?
The locations of the places will be seen with real-time maps, the most affected areas already confirmed, will be seen with heat maps. The dynamic is, person who travels areas daily, then is diagnosed with COVID-19, this person will activate through the app that is carrier, so that the map shows the areas they traveled in recent days.

Do weather conditions influence the transmission of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)?
Published 29th Feb, a modelling study produced the following figure to represent the relationship between temperature and the predicted the number of cases during the period of first reported case until 29th February 2020 (the grey zone represents the 95% confidence interval of the predicted values):
Not all of the studies we found suggested weather as an influence on transmission. An analysis of the reproductive number (R0) of (SARS-CoV-2) across China reported that changes in weather alone (i.e., increase of temperature and humidity) would not necessarily lead to declines in cases. The R0 across locations was calculated using incomplete reported case count data, with the date of reporting, rather than the date of onset used, which adds noise to any the estimation.
A further study on the role of Environmental Factors on Transmission Rates of the COVID-19 reports that the weather alone cannot explain the variability of the R0 in Chinese provinces, cities or other countries.
Results suggest that temperature does positively correlate with infection rates spread, whereas it negatively correlates with humidity.
Temperature and humidity are likely to contribute a maximum of 18% of the variation in transmission. Other variables, such as public health measures, account for the rest.
A further investigation of air temperature and humidity influence on the transmission of (SARS-CoV-2) reported that for every 1℃ One increase in temperature and 1% increase in relative humidity lowered the R by 0.0383 and 0.0224, respectively.
Emerging data appears to suggest that cold and dry conditions may facilitate the spread of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
However, caution is needed when considering the implications of these findings, which may be subject to confounding. In addition, much of the emerging data for 2019-nCoV has yet to be peer-reviewed.
Although warmer climates may slow the spread of 2019-nCoV, relying on weather changes alone to slow the transmission of COVID-19 are unlikely to be sufficient.

Affected by coronavirus in Spain
datoscovid.es/ is an initiative that brings together data scientists, data journalists, specialists in geographic information systems, etc. and that thanks to the work of volunteers and promoted by Esri Spain in collaboration with ProvidencialData19 to collect with the aim of unifying in as much detail as possible, information on the number of people affected by coronavirus by administrative region.
Castilla y León:
The Datadista data repository for Spain
Our Covid Tracking application includes the creation of databases extracted from the NASA data system Covid-19 Data Pathfinder and NASA Data Pathfinder from which we obtain the temperature and relative humidity conditions of the planet's localities as well as the behavior or evolution in the last 3 years and its different seasons, with this information and studies (not yet proven or accepted) of the best favorable means in terms of humidity and temperature in which the Covid-19 virus has a better spread, crossing them with the official maps of government and educational institutions in which the number of positive cases for Covid-19 are reported by localities, areas, regions of each country, a correlation is applied seeking the greatest certainty of the data, once these results are obtained, it is create a database, which will be input for the Covid tracking application.
In the APP, a report will be presented using the device's GPS on the percentages of effectiveness of virus propagation according to the results of the correlation against the current temperature and humidity of the place.
With this data, the user will be able to determine certain personal actions, such as leaving the house, shopping, recreational activities, work, or postponing some activities.
There will also be a section within the APP in which personal strategies will be issued, related to the number of infections in a mile, a town or a region, as well as the effectiveness of propagation and the level of alert issued by local authorities, such as The results will be shown as signal what is allowed and what is not recommended, such as leaving the house, walking, running, cycling, public transport, satinizing, etc.
8. Use of US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Covid tracking includes a summary extracted from the Centers for disease control and prevention in order to present the most reliable and official information to the user, in addition to linking to the database for correlation of positive cases and their alert levels of spread by location. and areas.
The app also includes a health test or quiz to determine if you are suspected of Covid-19 or just some similar symptoms.
9.- Benefits
Signal Life wants to provide an app for the entire public. Where we can have easy and quick access to review in which areas the outbreak of COVID-19 has occurred, also in this way, health and safety services, go to those areas to sanitize, thus having better control in the areas. most affected.
The benefits of applications such as Covid Tracking can be more far-reaching with data management and mapping even for new viruses or health threats, since it presents a global and individual strategy for people and with it they can make their decisions with greater support of information.
10.- Disadvantages to be resolved and next steps
Respecting privacy, the application considers disabling the GPS (home, work or place you want to be blocked), thus avoiding the signaling or identification of the covid-19 patient, it is required to work on awareness and confidence-building campaigns.
11.- Conclusion
It is important to change the paradigm in people because a new normal is in the works that will be very different from our previous normal, and there will also be a new form of urban mobility for people, products and services, so new technologies must emerge, applications and solutions that adapt to this new normal and that many lead to a paradigm shift in our consciences.
