Where There’s a Link, There’s a Way

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there has been a proliferation of websites and portals developed to share resources about the topic. Your challenge is to find innovative ways to present and analyze integrated, real-time information about the environmental factors affecting the spread of COVID-19.

Sky-Fi

Summary

The objective of this challenge is to collect and filter information about COVID-19 and unite it in one place, in a simple and coherent way. As a proposal, an application that identifies the number of users per area, informing the risk of frequenting the location. This is beneficial for society, health and the economy, as people are able to monitor in real time how many users of the application would be connected in a certain area, allowing them to choose to attend an establishment with less agglomeration, and for trade that will suffer less losses. This helps to prevent the spread of the disease and to inform society.

How We Addressed This Challenge

The objective of this challenge is to collect and filter information about COVID-19 and unite it in one place, in a simple and coherent way. How We Developed This Project

1st Topic We’ll execute the prototype with a web application, using JavaScript and React Native to build the base of the application that will start the total project, exposing the idea. We’ll divide the work assigning 3 segments:  • Dev: Will develop the prototype in order to spread the final project in a practical and easy way for everyone, which will show possible places with crowds of people, to avoid greater contagion risks, with the proposal ready and defined, the development’ll be able to correlate data from NASA with Google to reduce outbreaks of contagion.  • Design: Will assemble all visual identity and content orientation.  • Scientific Writing: Will assemble all the technical part in biological and scientific issues to follow up on the application's functionalities.   2nd Topic The platform aggregates, in a simplified way, the information needed to face Covid-19, reduce the risk of contamination and offer subsidies for health planning, as well as uses APIs and reliable sources to present real and relevant information.

3rd Topic We’ll use Adobe XD to assemble the prototype of the application, guiding how our solution will be represented within that platform.  Once the prototype is made, we’ll be able to start capturing and processing the geolocation data, and resources, provided by NASA in order to be able to correlate with Google data, getting a low error rate and provide future users with reliable density and geolocation data in a specific location or areas at risk.

4th Topic During the COVID-19 pandemic, impacts in the most diverse spheres have been harming society, both in the area of health and in the economic area.  With measures of total social isolation, small and medium entrepreneurs are at risk of going bankrupt, increasing unemployment rates, just as non-isolation can spread the disease, increase mortality by COVID-19 and overburden the health system.  So that this does not happen, our project seeks to reconcile both, allowing public establishments to remain open and people to be able to prevent themselves when leaving home.  Through an application that identifies the number of users per area, it is possible to know whether the risk of frequenting the location is low or high.  This is beneficial for both parties, as people are able to monitor in real time how many users of the application would be connected in that space, allowing them to choose to attend an establishment with fewer people, and for trade that will not suffer losses.  The proposal is extremely creative, since people are able to track only the number of infected people per city, but are not able to know which places in the municipality are safe to visit.  The risk measure will be based on the number of users with the active application.  With the appropriate incentive to download, users can then, after enabling the location, know the risk of going to a mall, restaurant or park, based on the number of active users who are already in the location during the map search.  The only challenge at the moment will be to establish partnerships with large groups, however, as the large part of the population is afraid of being contaminated, the expected adhesion is great due to the proposal and practicality of the application.

5th Topic The mission concept’s based on passing on information, referring to geolocation in the most efficient way possible, in order to inform the population about the situation of people gathering in certain environments, helping to prevent the spread of the virus, and ensuring that related information to the theme are contradicted or proven.  In addition to geolocation, data made available by NASA’ll also be used to strengthen information on the circulation of individuals, such as satellite images and other variety of data already collected.

6th Topic The objective of this challenge’s to collect and filter information about COVID-19 and unite it in one place, in a simple and coherent way.  As a proposal, an application that identifies the amount of users per area, informing the risk of frequenting the location.  This is beneficial for society, health and the economy, as people are able to monitor in real time how many users of the application would be connected in a certain area, allowing them to choose to attend an establishment with less agglomeration, and for trade that’ll suffer less losses.  This helps to prevent the spread of the disease and to inform society.

7th Topic In conversation with the mentoring, we explained our idea of the project and details about what we should include, such as segmentation and adding value to it, bringing new and relevant information so that our project has an impact, were clarified.  It also helped to understand the creative process to reach the result.
