As many familiar experiences are taken away from our daily lives because of COVID-19, our psychological and physical health can be negatively affected. Although everyone has had to adopt social distancing, advanced technology can allow us to stay in touch, and it's important for us to make the most of what we have. Though living through this global pandemic is on a much larger scale compared to what we have been through before, we can listen to experts and their advice to effectively take care of ourselves and those around us as we stay strong and get through the pandemic together.
We chose this challenge because we thought that the best way to address the hardships and challenges that we have dealt with during the pandemic to be through art. After talking together and exploring NASA's website, we decided on helping people living in isolation cope and improve their livelihoods by using the tips of those who have lived in social isolation long before us, astronauts! We used repl.it to code collaboratively in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We used a variety of platforms to create our digital art, from Adobe Photoshop to Microsoft Paint 3D. Additionally, we used discord to brainstorm, work on design, fix bugs in our code, divide up our work, and give design critiques.
