This piece of music has been a direct outlet for me to express my experience of living through these historic times. Through this song it's become clearer that holding a leadership role can be a tricky endeavor. I’ve learned relationships can go through strain and yet become even stronger during the bizarre circumstance of sheltering in place. I’ve realized how fortunate I am to have my health and be able to offer support to those I love.
I wanted to participate in this challenge even without the technical skills to create something leveraging the data that has been collected. So instead I went to music where I have some experience. I wrote the lyrics half at night, half the next morning, then refined them after that. The guitar part came before the lyrics and I looped it to listen to it while writing the lyrics. I added some drums later, first a bass drum, then snare. I recorded on basic equipment using Logic Pro X.
