Human Factors

The emergence and spread of infectious diseases, like COVID-19, are on the rise. Can you identify patterns between population density and COVID-19 cases and identify factors that could help predict hotspots of disease spread?

Examining Socio-Economic Trends and the Effects of COVID-19 on Human Activity

Summary

The main focus of this project is to examine which human-driven factors in the spread of a disease have been changed throughout the early stages of this pandemic.

How I Addressed This Challenge

The main focus of this project will be on physical transactions and currency, and the new paradigm of shopping and spending that has unfolded in a short span of time, and the manner in which it has had an effect on both our social tendencies and our economic growth, in various industries, to varying degrees.

How I Developed This Project

While there have been many areas of our lives that have been effected by COVID-19, perhaps one of the most direct, and easiest to measure, is the way in which we earn, spend, save, transact, and interact with currency and money. While this is only one small portion of the greater battle towards understanding COVID-19, we can glimpse many insights into the behavior and tendencies of the population, and perhaps the changes we may see in the future of the economy.
