This project addresses this challenge by finding a solution to a problem that education systems scrambled to solve during this pandemic: how do we as educators continue to provide a quality education while not physically able to access teaching resources and our students. this project aims to help provide a foundation for a solution that is manageable to both students and educators and how to further develop distanced learning to make sure in the future, education will not take such a hit if another situation requiring social distancing and distanced learning is to arise.
I was inspired by my mom, Tamra Marbibi, an elementary school principle, my 8th grade science teacher Terri Henry, and my high school engineering teacher, Jennifer Mcmillin. these women have all be crucial in my pursuit of a career in stem and watching how they each handled this pandemic with association to their careers was a phenomenal experience. my approach to developing this project was to take data from those who have experienced isolation in the ISS As well as other extreme environments and how this affected them psychologically and apply that to students and educators, and on top of this make sure to include the hormonal adjustments for the modern student (ages 10-18) and attempt to find a solution that would provide a quality education without too far straining students and educators. in order to complete this project i used the internet, as well as many books about the modern student, and how to create and engaging classroom environment. one problem i faced while completing this project was data, although i had assess to data, the data i had was not something that i could use to support my claim. in order to overcome this, i hosted an Instagram poll asking questions that i anted to know specifically and was able to give generalized answers. although this was not the most accurate way to receive data, it was still able to provide me with some valuable information to support my claim. i realize that this data is not accurate as we can not control the sample size and we do not know the demographics of all those participating, but assuming that the only people who answered my poll are whiten the age range of 10- 18 we have a precise piece of data.
