Light the Path

The COVID-19 pandemic initiated changes in human population movements and activities around the world. Your challenge is to use Earth observations to explore how human activity and regional land-based human movement patterns may have shifted in response to COVID-19.

Understand Humans Understand The World.

Summary

In the Event Covid-19 Space Apps Hackathon, our team SpaceGlobes has chosen the challenge, Light the Path that said, "Your challenge is to use Earth observations to explore how human activity and regional land-based human movement patterns may have shifted in response to COVID-19." In this challenge, we demonstrated using earth satellite data and images to measure the earth's human density population and movement during COVID.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We addressed this challenge by comparing the data from the earth's satellites and related it to real-time during this pandemic.

How We Developed This Project

We were inspired to do this challenge to virtually work together as a team and make a difference during the COVID-19 pandemic. We developed a timeline, collaborated ideas, researched, and proud of our demo. We used space agency data in the example resources on the space app website. We used Zoom, Facetime, Messenger, Google slides, drive, and docs as our tools and software's to complete this challege. One challenge we overcame was scheduling calls with a variety of different schedules. Our biggest achievement was completing our first demo as a team.
