To make the vast amount of information easier to comprehend, Coronavision takes in several data sources and outputs them in a user-friendly format by providing a visual of a map with hotspots that shows the environmental aspects affecting the spread of COVID-19.
What governed our group to choose this subject was the idea that during this critical moment, finding accessible and straightforward information can come across as difficult due to the large number of technical, hard to read sites. To do so, we began by brainstorming ideas for what could make digesting all the information available easier. After that, we consolidated our ideas into one, Coronavision. By combining our team member's website development skills and utilizing Leaflet and Mapbox to create the mapping platform, we were able to design a user-friendly site that showcases the environmental aspects that are affecting the COVID-19 spread.
